Frequently asked

The app can't hear me.

Open iOS Settings → Tatin and make sure Microphone is enabled. If it's already on, try closing and reopening the app. If it still fails, check that no other app (like a call or voice memo) is holding the microphone.

My pronunciation score seems wrong.

Background noise and distance from the phone both matter. Try a quieter room, hold the phone 15–20 cm from your mouth, and speak at a normal pace. If you still think a score is off, send us a screenshot and we'll take a look.

The AI replied in English.

This can happen if you write mostly in English or ask a meta-question. Nudge it back with a German message and it should follow. If you see it happen consistently in a specific scenario, let us know which one.

Can I use Tatin without a network connection?

Not yet. Conversations, pronunciation scoring, and feedback all require a live connection to our servers.

Which languages are supported?

German is the only learning language at launch. You may see app UI, hints, and explanations in other languages where localization is available. More learning languages are planned later.

Which levels are supported?

Situations are labelled A1 through B2. If a scene feels too easy or too hard, use the level filter on the Explore tab to jump up or down.

Deleting your account

You can delete your Tatin account — and all your conversations, audio, and feedback — at any time.

  1. Open Tatin and go to the Settings tab.
  2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
  3. Confirm. Your account is deleted immediately; remaining personal data is removed from our systems within 30 days.

If you can't access the app (for example, you lost access to your sign-in method), send us a message from the email associated with your account and we'll delete it for you.

Subscriptions and billing

Subscriptions are managed through the app store account you used to subscribe. To cancel, renew, or view your subscription:

  1. On iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then tap Subscriptions.
  2. On Android, open Google Play, tap your profile icon, then choose Payments & subscriptions.
  3. Select Tatin to manage the subscription.

Refund requests are handled by the store: Apple uses reportaproblem.apple.com, and Google Play uses its order history and support flow.
